If you are a developer you already know from the slew of Google emails that market changes are about. However if you are running tools such as the unofficial market api or a custom version of such tool, you may have noticed some errors have started to plague you.
The major change made for those of us using such interfaces is that the Market ID of the device is now a required field. This is a real pain for certain applications such as one of my own, App Stats, as now only rooted devices can use my application. The reason for this is that acquiring the Market ID requires pulling an encoded string from the markets database which is unique for all devices. Even worse is that this string is not always in the same place from one device to another making the job of getting it and utilizing it from device to device becomes exceedingly difficult.
